map of British accents!!
How can a country smaller than montana have so many fucking accents?
this is why we say please do not talk about a “british accent” thank
Yeah because Scotland only has three accents right enough
You see each of those islands off the coast of Scotland?
Every one that has a living population has its own accent.
And you can pretty much divide the rest of Scotland into just as many regions.
If you generalise a bit, you still would have to divide the Lowland Scots region into six different regions.
Hiberno-English as they’ve called it, also has more than Dublin (which in itself has at least two) but there’s a distinct Cork accent and a Meath accent and an Offaly one and more.
If you don’t know, then pull a weather map and chop it off.

It seems the whole Internet went crazy for the release of Lana Del Rey’s comeback single, ‘West Coast’, but there was another musical delivery I was even more excited for. I first heard The Tuts when they supported Kate Nash during her 2013 UK tour, and I fell for their high energy, their punk hooks with pop melodies, and infectious lyrics - not to mention they’re some of the craziest and loveliest girls I’ve met! (When I saw them late last year in Manchester, Beverley gave me an ‘Apple Pie’ vodka, yay!)
On Tuesday, the London-based all girl band released their second EP, Time To Move On. The EP includes fan favourite Worry Warrior, featuring a chorus you won’t be able to get out your head for days, and a live version of Dump Your Boyfriend, that’s become a show staple: before playing the song live, the band shout ‘IF YOU’VE GOT A SHIT BOYFRIEND, DUMP YOUR BOYFRIEND!’ that’s become a motto for the fans. There are also two new songs - Loving It, and 1,2,3 that contains the best lyric: ‘4,5,6, suck my dick.’
Perhaps the most surprising track on the EP is its closer, a remix of Worry Warrior. The song is completely transformed by electronic backing and overlaid with a fantastic rap from Nadia. The track isn’t simply a lazy remixing, thrown on the CD to bulk up numbers - it’s a great, if unexpected track, on its own; produced masterfully and packing a punch.
I might be biased - I absolutely love Nadia, Harriet and Bev - but this EP is a must-listen for any ‘girl power’ believers out there. It’s sharp, spunky, and ridiculously catchy, as I’ve come to except from this riotous girl band.
